Redmi K80 series may get a 6,500 mAh battery

In November, Redmi is expected to introduce the Redmi K80 series to the Chinese market. Like the Redmi K70 lineup, the initial models in the K80 family may include the Redmi K80e, Redmi K80, and Redmi K80 Pro. Today, a reliable Digital Chat Station informant took to Weibo to claim that the K80 series is currently being tested with high-silicon single-cell batteries.

The aforementioned DCS Weibo post suggests that the batteries being tested for the Redmi K80 series have capacities of 5,960 mAh and 6,060 mAh, with typical capacities reaching 6,100 mAh and 6,200 mAh. In laboratory conditions, the maximum capacity can reach 6,500 mAh.

This means that the Redmi K80 series boasts a 6,500 mAh single-cell battery, making it the highest capacity phone in its price range, and no other device can come close. In comparison, the Redmi K70 and K70 Pro feature a 5,000mAh battery, while the recently announced K70 Ultra boasts a 5,500mAh battery.

While recent reports have revealed a lot of information about the Redmi K80 Pro, there have been few details about the K80. According to a recent report, the Pro version will feature a 2K 120Hz OLED screen with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. The rear camera will include a 50-megapixel main camera, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50-megapixel 3x telephoto camera. The K80 series can support fast charging of up to 120W.

It is reported that the Redmi K80 may get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and be rebranded as Poco F7 Pro in 2025. On the other hand, the Redmi K80 Pro might be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. This device is likely to remain limited to the Chinese market.
