Xiaomi is working on a new HyperOS-based smartphone from its Redmi sub-brand. The device in question is the Redmi 13, which recently appeared on major certification platforms that revealed some of its key features. So, here’s everything you need to know.
The Chinese tech giant’s upcoming smartphone has been spotted on the FCC and IMEI certification platforms. On both platforms, it has a model number of 24049RN28L, and the IMEI database confirms its official nickname Redmi 13. According to the FCC certificate, the Redmi 13 will also run on the recently introduced custom HyperOS 1.0 shell, which is based on Android 14.
In addition, Redmi 13 smartphone debuts with Bluetooth 5.3. It has a nominal battery capacity of 4,930 mAh, which is likely to have a typical capacity of 5,000 mAh. This battery has been certified to support 33W wired fast charging. Unfortunately, these two certifications didn’t reveal any other details about this smartphone, such as its specifications and design. But based on its name, we can expect it to be a direct successor to the Redmi 12, which launched in 2023.
In December 2023, Xiaomi also introduced the Redmi 13C model in the Indian market. This model was launched with Dimensity 6100 SoC, 6.74-inch HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate, 50MP primary camera, etc.; while Redmi 12 offered Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (5G variant), 50MP triple camera setup, and 6.79-inch FHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate. So we can expect the Redmi 13 to offer similar hardware with some improvements.
