The Internet Association of Ukraine sent a letter to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and heads of parliamentary factions regarding the consideration of the draft law under registration number 9593 on amendments to Article 115 of the Law of Ukraine “On Electronic Communications”.
The draft law provides for assistance in ensuring the sustainable functioning of electronic communication networks and the provision of electronic communication services, as well as a ban on dismantling electronic communication networks in emergency situations, martial law and martial law.
The Association, which has more than 220 operators, communication providers, and other participants, calls on parliamentarians to include in the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada and adopt as a priority the draft law No. 9593 on the prohibition of dismantling electronic communication networks in emergency situations, martial law, and martial law.
The need for this is caused by cases of unjustified termination of electronic communication services due to illegal actions of owners of telecommunications infrastructure, which have recently become systemic.
According to the InAU, the adoption of this draft law is one of the necessary conditions for electronic communication service providers to comply with the requirements of the President of Ukraine No. 802/2022 “On the Decision of the National Security and Defense Council of 26.11.2022 “On Provision of Electronic Communication Services under Martial Law”.
