Production of OLED panels for 13-inch and 11-inch Apple iPad Pro models has begun

Apple has long been rumored to be working on iPad Pro models with OLED displays. Now, a fresh report from South Korea claims that the production of OLED panels for the upcoming iPad Pro has started. Samsung Display and LG Display are expected to produce these OLED displays, so here are all the details.

Samsung Display is starting production of OLED panels for iPad Pro this week

This news was shared by TheElec. In our previous report, we said that LG Display is expected to start producing OLED displays for the iPad Pro in February 2024. But a recent report from Korea claims that LG is already producing OLED displays for the next generation of Apple’s iPad Pro. The company is reportedly making 13-inch displays (12.9-inch, according to previous reports), while 11-inch OLED panels could also soon be on the production line.

For those who are not in the know, the Cupertino giant is working on two new iPad Airs and two new OLED iPad Pros in the second quarter of this year. LG isn’t the only OLED panel supplier, as Samsung Display is also expected to start producing OLED panels for these iPad Pro later this week. The fresh report adds that LG Display will focus on 13-inch OLED panels, while Samsung Display will mainly produce 11-inch variants.

Unfortunately, more details about these iPads, as well as their price, have not yet been disclosed. But based on what we know at the moment, the new iPad Pro will most likely be equipped with an Apple M3 processor. This can lead to a slight price increase compared to its predecessor. There may also be new accessories, such as a new magic keyboard and pencil accessories. This is all the information we have at the moment, so stay tuned.
