Porsche China has announced a significant milestone: the delivery of its one millionth vehicle in mainland China. This achievement comes 25 years after the company established its presence in the region in 2001.

A Quarter Century of Growth

Since its inception, Porsche China has been dedicated to providing professional support to its partners across sales, marketing, and after-sales services. The delivery of the millionth car, celebrated at the 2026 Porsche All-Sportscar Day, marks a quarter-century of dedication and growth in one of Porsche’s key markets.

Navigating Market Challenges

Despite this historic milestone, Porsche China has experienced a decline in sales. In 2025, the company delivered 41,938 vehicles in the Chinese market, a 26% decrease year-on-year. The official statement attributes this downturn to the overall pressure on the luxury car market in China and the increasingly fierce competition in the electric vehicle segment.

The trend continued into the first half of the current year. Porsche China reported delivering 14,501 vehicles to customers in the first half of the year, marking a 32% decrease compared to the same period last year. The company reiterated that the challenging market environment and Porsche’s continued commitment to a value-oriented sales strategy are the primary reasons for this decline.

Future Outlook

Porsche China stated its intention to maintain its value-oriented sales strategy, focusing on sustainable growth and brand value rather than aggressive sales targets. This approach aims to navigate the current market dynamics and ensure the long-term health and desirability of the Porsche brand in China.
