In June, Oppo may introduce the Reno 12 series of smartphones in China. The line is expected to face competition from the Vivo S19 series, Honor 200 series, and Huawei Nova 13 line. Earlier this week, it was reported that Reno 12 may receive a new Dimensity 8300 chipset. Today, a Digital Chat Station whistleblower published a new post on Weibo, in which almost everything about the Reno 12 was leaked.
Oppo Reno 12 specifications (rumored)
DCS reports that the engineering prototype of the Oppo Reno 12 is equipped with the Dimensity 8200 chipset. Reno 11, which debuted in November 2023, also features the same D8200 chip.
The leak also shows that the Reno 12 engineering prototype has 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of internal storage, and a 5000 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. The device is likely to run Android 14 based on ColorOS 14.
The latest leak about the Reno 12 doesn’t include any information about its front camera. However, it states that the rear camera will feature a 50-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture. According to preliminary information, it may be equipped with a custom-made Sony lens as the main sensor. It will be joined by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.0 aperture and 2x optical zoom.
The design of the Reno 12 will be one of the main highlights. DCS claims that it will have a thin and light design, with a micro curvature display on the front panel. Previous leaks claimed that the screen will support 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The device is also IP65-rated for dust and water resistance.
