The 2026 OPPO Developer Conference is currently underway, and OPPO has unveiled significant updates for its ColorOS 17 operating system, focusing on the intelligent capabilities of its Xiao Bu assistant. These enhancements aim to provide users with more proactive and personalized assistance across a wider range of daily tasks.

Xiao Bu Assistant: Deeper Integration and New Features

OPPO announced that Xiao Bu’s suggestion features have been significantly expanded, now partnering with over 40 leading service providers to integrate more than 150 services. This vast network covers over 700 life scenarios, enabling Xiao Bu to proactively offer relevant assistance to users. Whether it’s booking a ride, managing appointments, or seeking information, Xiao Bu is designed to anticipate user needs.

Introducing “Xiao Bu Incoming Call” for Urgent Alerts

A standout new feature is “Xiao Bu Incoming Call,” a novel alert system designed for critical situations. When an urgent matter arises, Xiao Bu will simulate an incoming call to grab the user’s attention and provide timely reminders. For instance, if a user heads to the wrong airport or station for a ride, Xiao Bu will initiate a simulated call to correct the mistake, ensuring users stay on track.

Enhanced Navigation with AI Fluid Cloud Fusion

ColorOS 17 introduces “AI Fluid Cloud Fusion Navigation,” a collaborative effort with Baidu Maps and Gaode Maps. This advanced navigation system utilizes OPPO’s proprietary “Swarm Sensing Technology” to achieve high-precision perception of micro-regions, boasting an impressive 95% accuracy rate in its broadcasts. The navigation supports various modes, including walking, bus, and subway, offering seamless guidance throughout a journey. Key features include continuous route guidance, one-click access to transit QR codes, and proactive prompts before transfers. Additionally, it provides engaging landmark visuals for points of interest and intelligent arrival notifications for metro lines in over 30 cities across China.

“AI One-Tap Flash Note” Gets a Major Upgrade

The “AI One-Tap Flash Note” function, first introduced by OPPO, has seen a significant upgrade in ColorOS 17. Last year, this feature was used over 1 billion times for tasks like recording pick-up codes. The new version expands its capabilities to include recording item pick-up codes, contact information, and even concert ticket搶票 (ticket snatching) times. This feature intelligently analyzes the current screen content and suggests relevant actions, demonstrating OPPO’s evolution from “personalized AI” to “personalized proactive intelligence.”

Smarter Conversations and Proactive Assistance

The next generation of Xiao Bu supports longer multi-turn conversations, remembering past interactions and continuously updating its understanding of the user. Users can also customize Xiao Bu’s tone, style, and expression, making the interaction more personal. Based on personalized sensing, Xiao Bu can now identify events like calendar schedules, friend invitations, and travel plans, creating personalized to-do lists that are prominently displayed at the top of the interface. The Xiao Bu homepage can aggregate these pending tasks for easy overview.

Enhanced Execution Capabilities for Complex Tasks

Xiao Bu’s execution capabilities have also been bolstered. Users can now generate detailed travel plans with text and images using a single sentence. The system supports dynamic adjustments through natural language commands. Furthermore, Xiao Bu can curate related tasks around a travel theme and proactively suggest flight deals, simplifying complex planning for users.

OPPO promises to continue reporting on further developments from the 2026 OPPO Developer Conference.
