This year, Samsung may depart from its typical release cycle and release the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 with OneUI 6.1.1 and delay the release of OneUI 7 based on Android 15. However, OneUI 6.1.1 is predicted to be a major update with additional AI features and camera optimizations. The news came from the famous Ice Universe tipster. He claims that the build will be released for the Galaxy S24 series in August. However, he did not name the exact date.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 will receive new artificial intelligence features with OneUI 6.1.1
The informant also adds that Samsung will include a new artificial intelligence-based graffiti tool in the upcoming One UI 6.1.1. According to him, this feature “makes great use of the S Pen and imagination”. The feature could allow users to turn anything they write with the S Pen into graffiti using artificial intelligence.
Notably, the AI features available in OneUI 6.1 do not take advantage of the S Pen. Samsung is probably trying to maximize the hardware it already offers with Galaxy AI. Samsung may also improve system animations in the new version.
Samsung usually starts testing new versions of Android around July or August. The company releases a stable build with the latest version of Android around October, right after the public release of the new version of Android. However, according to the source, Samsung may delay the release of OneUI 7 based on Android 15. He said: “One UI 7 will not be released very early because there are special circumstances this year.”
Since its launch, the Galaxy S24 series has yet to receive a major firmware update. Ice Universe claims that the OneUI 6.1.1 build, which will be rolled out to the series in August, may also bring camera optimizations and solve many image processing issues.
