OnePlus Open debuts with two LTPOs and Hasselblad cameras

OnePlus Open is finally presented. Today, the company unveiled its first-ever foldable phone at a global event in Mumbai, India. The leaks and rumors that preceded today’s presentation left nothing to the imagination about the device. Notably, OnePlus Open for global markets is the same as OPPO’s Find N3 (which was also announced earlier today) for the Chinese market. In short, it’s the same device.

Specifications and features of OnePlus Open

Let’s just say that OnePlus Open is a compact folding phone, almost the size of a wallet. It has a box form factor with a three-level notification slider on the left side. The back has a large round camera module that protrudes. OnePlus has equipped the hinge of its foldable phone with aerospace-grade materials. It is claimed to last ten years and withstand 1,000,000 folds. In addition, the folds on the device are barely noticeable.

In terms of display, OnePlus Open has a 6.3-inch outer screen and a 7.82-inch inner screen. Both displays feature an LTPO AMOLED panel with a 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 2,800 nits. The outer screen is covered with Ceramic Guard, which is claimed to offer 20 percent more impact resistance than Gorilla Glass Victus. Meanwhile, the internal display has ultra-thin glass. The OnePlus Open is equipped with three speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos.

In terms of photography, OnePlus Open is equipped with a triple rear camera setup under the Hasselblad brand. They consist of a 1/1.43-inch 48-megapixel Sony LYTIA-T808 main sensor with a pixel stack, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a third periscopic telephoto lens with a resolution of 64 megapixels and 6x optical zoom. The outer and inner screens have 20-megapixel and 32-megapixel camera sensors, respectively, placed in a perforated notch for selfies and video calls.

Under the hood, OnePlus Open is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It is equipped with 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a UFS 4.0 storage capacity of up to 512 TB. The foldable phone is powered by a 4800 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. Software-wise, it runs on OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box. It is guaranteed to receive four years of OS updates and five years of security patches.

The OnePlus Open is equipped with a WiFi-7 module, dual 5G, X-Axis linear motor, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C, NFC, and more.
