Today’s smartphones have backs made of polycarbonate, glass, leather, and ceramic. The shift from metal to these materials is due to various reasons such as reduced signal interference, lighter weight, improved heat dissipation, greater design flexibility, and better wireless charging compatibility, but a new leak indicates that OnePlus is planning to launch a smartphone with a metal back, adding a touch of creativity to it. This phone seems to be the upcoming OnePlus Nord 4.
OnePlus Nord 4 design
OnePlus has recently confirmed that it will hold its next smartphone launch event on the global market on July 16. The event is expected to feature several products such as OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus Watch 2R, and OnePlus Buds 3 Pro. The Nord 4 will reportedly be a rebranded version of the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3-powered OnePlus Ace 3V, which debuted in China a few months ago.
Today, a Digital Chat Station informant shared a schematic via his Weibo handle, revealing an upcoming OnePlus phone with a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip for the global market. This means that he may have unveiled the design of the OnePlus Nord 4. He claimed that the camera body is made of glass, while the rest of the body, including the middle bezel, is a solid metal structure. The device has a dual camera setup, located horizontally.
The diagram is identical to the real image of the OnePlus Nord 4 shared by the Sanju whistleblower. The specifications mentioned by the whistleblower are exactly the same as the Chinese Ace 3V. So, Nord 4 could be a rebranded Ace 3V with an updated back panel. We still need to check if the Nord 4 is different in terms of specifications from its Chinese counterpart.
