OnePlus plans to launch OnePlus Ace 3, a sub-flagship phone based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, in China tomorrow. In the run-up to the launch, the company has been steadily releasing key features of the device. Today, it dropped several posters to confirm the battery capacity.
OnePlus Ace 3 battery size confirmed
Ace 3 will be the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone with a 5500 mAh battery. The four-year battery life is optimized for long-lasting use. The inclusion of the SuperVOOC S power management chip contributes to the efficient use of energy, achieving an industry-leading 99.5 percent discharge efficiency.
The Ace 3’s battery performance numbers include 17.4 hours of video playback, 15.7 hours of Douyin short videos, and 8.7 hours of Honor of Kings gameplay before needing to recharge. The brand also confirmed that the Ace 3 will support 100W fast charging. However, it will lack support for wireless charging.
As for other specifications, the OnePlus Ace 3 will feature a 6.78-inch OLED panel from BOE with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It will have a 16-megapixel front-facing camera and a triple camera setup of 50 megapixels (Sony IMX890, OIS) + 8 megapixels (ultra-wide) + 2 megapixels (macro). It is expected to be available in three variants: 12GB+256GB, 16GB+256GB, and 16GB+1TB, with a starting price of RMB 3299 (~$465). It will be available in three colors: “Star Black, Moon Sea, and Sand Gold.
OnePlus Ace 3 will be rebranded as OnePlus 12R for markets such as India, Europe and North America. The 12R is expected to be officially unveiled alongside the OnePlus 12 on January 23 at a global launch event.
