OnePlus has been actively working on a series of premium smartphones, including the upcoming Ace series, and rumors point to the launch of the OnePlus Ace 3 in January next year. The Ace 2 Pro, its predecessor, continues to be in high demand, especially for its 12GB + 256GB version on various e-commerce platforms.
Main features of the OnePlus Ace 3
A well-known Digital Chat Station whistleblower who previously leaked some key features of the upcoming Ace 3 has now shared more information about the series. According to him, the OnePlus Ace 3 will have a metal bezel design reminiscent of the brushed aluminum alloy frame seen on the Apple Watch, indicating premium build quality. In addition, the device will have a curved 1.5K display and a stylish gray steel glass body, adding to its aesthetic appeal.
DCS also revealed that the Ace 3 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, positioning it as a high-end mid-range smartphone. Previous reports indicate that the device will feature a 5500 mAh battery and support 100W fast charging, which promises excellent battery life and fast charging speeds.
For photography enthusiasts, the Ace 3 will offer a versatile camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary camera with 1/1.56-inch IMX890 sensor, a 32-megapixel IMX709 telephoto lens, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The device is also expected to feature a 6.74-inch LTPO 120Hz OLED display with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits.
The OnePlus Ace 3 was recently spotted on Geekbench, potentially featuring 16GB of RAM and running Android 13, indicating high specs. Renderings published a few months ago also hint that the device will retain the traditional OnePlus design philosophy, resembling the OnePlus 11R/Ace 2 in appearance.
The OnePlus Ace 3 is expected to debut in China early next year. There is speculation of a global release called OnePlus 12R, which is in line with OnePlus’ trend of rebranding Ace models for international markets. This strategy allows OnePlus to meet the needs of different markets while maintaining consistency across its product line.
