In Q4 2024, the mobile communications sector in Ukraine showed significant progress, with Kyivstar and Vodafone becoming co-leaders according to the nPerf Barometer. However, lifecell has not lagged behind, but is ahead of its competitors in some respects.
The sector, according to experts, reflects a competitive environment in which Kyivstar, lifecell and Vodafone have demonstrated significant achievements in various KPIs, such as download speed, upload speed and latency. The overall trend points to a positive trajectory with significant improvements in network capabilities and user experience.
The nPerf barometer is based on 41,494 tests performed by users in real-world conditions using the nPerf app, available on Android and iOS.
Leadership in various indicators
Kyivstar has made significant progress in the mobile Internet sector, scoring 59,339 points according to nPerf, which underscores its leadership in the Ukrainian market. With a download speed of 24 Mbps and a latency of 44 ms, Kyivstar’s network improvements are evident.
Lifecell continues to provide excellent web browsing and video streaming services, with its nPerf score reaching 58,054. The company is showing significant improvement, especially in download bitrate, which has increased by 20% and where the operator is now the leader.
Vodafone remains the leader with the highest nPerf score of 60,573. The upload bitrate is 12 Mbps, accompanied by excellent video streaming capabilities.

Kyivstar is a leader in terms of download speed and latency
During the analyzed period, Kyivstar stands out as a co-leader with excellent performance, reaching a global score of 59,339. It demonstrates the second fastest download speed at 24.2 Mbps and the best latency at 43.6 ms.
Kyivstar demonstrated significant improvements, especially in download speeds by 29.5% and 13% in upload speeds. These achievements underline the company’s significant contribution to improving the quality of mobile Internet in Ukraine.
Lifecell – excellence in web browsing and video streaming
Lifecell demonstrates its strength by scoring 58,054 points in the global rankings, leading the way in browsing with a 57.1% share and maintaining its dominance in video streaming with an impressive 80.0% share.
Lifecell also achieved a significant 20.4% increase in download speeds, where the company is a leader, demonstrating its commitment to improving the user experience.
Although the company is not a sector leader, its targeted improvements in these key areas are making a significant contribution to the overall sector performance.
Vodafone is a leader in terms of download speeds
Vodafone ranks first as a co-leader with a global score of 60,573, primarily due to its leadership in upload speeds at 12.0 Mbps and streaming at 80.4%.
Vodafone’s continued improvement across the categories reflects its strategic progress and key role in shaping the industry landscape.
