The highly anticipated action role-playing game, No Rest for the Wicked, developed by Austrian studio Moon Studios, has officially seen its 1.0 release date pushed back. Originally slated for launch next month in October 2026, the game will now arrive in March 2027.

Delay Explained in Apology Video

In a candid apology video, Moon Studios CEO Thomas Mahler explained the reasoning behind the postponement. He stated that while the development team has conducted multiple rounds of playtesting, the feedback received indicates that the game has not yet met the studio’s predefined release standards. To ensure a polished and high-quality final product, the team has decided to extend the development timeline. This will allow them to complete the remaining content and mitigate potential issues in the official 1.0 release.

Final Public Test Realm (PTR) in December

As part of the ongoing development and testing process, Moon Studios plans to launch another public PTR (Public Test Realm) in December. This upcoming test will offer players a chance to experience several new features and explore parts of the completed game, including a new class system. The studio has emphasized that this PTR will be the final open test phase before the official 1.0 launch in March 2027.

Founders Pack Eligibility Extended

With the official release date shifted, the deadline for PC players to purchase the game and qualify for the Founders Pack has also been extended. The new cut-off date is January 1, 2027, a significant extension from the original July 10 deadline.

The Founders Pack is an enticing offer for early supporters, which includes:

  • Access to a hidden stronghold named Spirit Cavern.
  • The Sayer’s Vow weapon, obtainable within the game world.
  • An exclusive Founder’s badge.
  • Eligibility to join an exclusive public test server even after the 1.0 release.

This extension provides more opportunities for players to secure these exclusive in-game benefits before the game’s final release. The delay, while disappointing for eager fans, underscores Moon Studios’ commitment to delivering a complete and satisfying experience with No Rest for the Wicked.
