Next year, Tesla will launch fully realized V4 Supercharger stations that support charging up to 500 kW for electric vehicles and 1.2 MW for Tesla commercial trucks. The sites with the new V4 cabinets are currently undergoing the permitting process. When they open next year, the charging racks to which electric vehicles plug in will be equipped with upgraded electronics that support faster charging of Cybertruck and other electric vehicles.

Last year, Tesla began deploying V4 kiosks in Europe and in a limited number in the United States. However, their capacity is limited by the capabilities of V3 Supercharger stations, which support a maximum charging power of 250 kW. The updated V4 booths include new physical payment terminals, longer cords that can reach the charging ports of other manufacturers’ EVs without blocking additional spaces, and CCS connectors (so you don’t have to bring your own adapter).
