Following the launch of the Motorola G34 5G in India earlier this month, Motorola is back with a new G-series phone. The latest offering is the Moto G Play (2024) for the US market. It is the successor to the Moto G Play (2023), which debuted in 2022. The newest G Play (2024) has some updates over its predecessor. Let’s find out what the device has in store for us.

Specifications and features of Moto G Play (2024)

The Moto G Play (2024) has a boxy body and a rear camera module that rises slightly above the back. The latter looks similar to OPPO Find X5 and Reno 8 series smartphones. The power button doubles as a fingerprint scanner. On the front, the device has a centered display with a 6.5-inch perforation, HD+ resolution and a peak brightness of 500 nits. The screen is surrounded by thick bezels. It has a refresh rate of 90 Hz.

As for the optics, Moto G Play (2024) is equipped with a single 50-megapixel main camera sensor paired with an LED flash. It is worth reminding that its predecessor had a triple rear camera. On the front, the smartphone is equipped with an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

Under the hood, the Moto G Play 2024 is powered by a Snapdragon 680 processor. It has 4 GB of RAM, which can be expanded up to 6 GB using virtual RAM. The internal storage is 64 GB, which can be expanded using a microSD card slot. The device is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging support. In terms of software, the smartphone runs on Android 13.

The Moto G Play comes in a single color – sapphire blue. Motorola has set the price for the smartphone at USD 150, and it will be available in the US starting February 8.
