Xiaomi is preparing to release a new flip phone, Mix Flip, designed for a global audience. The company has already experimented with folding phones with the Mix Fold series, which unfolded like a book and opened like a book, but they were only available in China.
However, it seems that Xiaomi is considering a global launch of its first flip phone. Proof of this is that the Mix Flip has been spotted by Thailand’s regulatory authority, the NBTC.
The NBTC certificate shows the phone’s model number as 2405CPX3DG and clearly labels it as a Xiaomi Mix Flip. Since NBTC certification is required to launch devices in the Thai market, this indicates that the Mix Flip will not be limited to China.
In addition, it looks like Thailand might be getting a global version of the cot, as the model number ends with the letter “G”, indicating a global version. The device was also recently spotted at the Singapore IMDA certification.
Returning to the expected specifications, Mix Flip is rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The display is rumored to have a 1.5K resolution.
As for the cameras, the phone is expected to have a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front, while the rear camera will include a 50-megapixel primary sensor (probably an OV50E with a size of 1/1.55 inch) and an OV60A sensor for telephoto.
In addition, the 3C certification hints at 67W fast charging support, and the battery capacity is expected to be somewhere between 4800 mAh and 4900 mAh.
Xiaomi Mix Flip may also receive satellite support, as evidenced by an entry in the GSMA’s IMEI database last month.
As for the release date, there is no specific timeframe for the launch of Xiaomi Mix Flip. But it may come before the Xiaomi 15 series, which is rumored to be released in October. So a launch in August or September could be plausible.
