Microsoft's Copilot app has an updated interface

Microsoft is finally releasing a native version of its Copilot app for Windows, almost a year after it turned it into a basic web application. This week, a new version of the Copilot app will be released to Windows insiders, which is built using native XAML and includes a new sidebar and improved interface.

The Copilot app for Windows now follows the design of the recently launched Copilot app for macOS, which allows you to upload images and generate images or text. You can also interact with Copilot using the microphone and access your conversation history in the updated sidebar.

Microsoft first launched Copilot in Windows 11 as a “personal assistant” integrated into the operating system, but a year later it removed this integration in favor of a basic web application, making Copilot less useful on the new Copilot Plus computers. The software developer has added keyboard shortcuts and made the Copilot app look a little less like a web app, but this week’s update looks much better.

The new Copilot app will first be available to all Windows insiders through the Microsoft Store, which means it will be available on all Windows 11 computers in the coming weeks.
