Meta will start selling Ray-Ban smart glasses from May 19

On Tuesday, Meta announced that the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses will go on sale in India starting May 19 at a starting price of Rs. 29,990 (about $353).

The smart glasses are currently available for pre-order on Ray-Ban’s website and will be available in Ray-Ban stores from the moment of launch.

Meta said that the smart glasses being launched in India will support Meta AI, which can answer questions about what’s in front of you, translate audio and video in real time, send messages through your phone, make calls for you, and much more.

Currently, the smart glasses support real-time translation into English, French, Italian, and Spanish, even when users are offline. Notably, Meta has not yet added support for Indian languages.

Meta said this will allow the glasses to connect and play music through apps such as Spotify, Amazon Music, Shazam, and Apple Music in India.

So far, the company has sold about 2 million pairs of glasses since its launch in 2023.
