Lenovo’s second-generation Legion Y700 was introduced back in July 2023. Now the company has announced that it is working on an updated Legion Y700 “Super Control Edition”.
This new iteration will only have an updated exterior with a matte display, while all internal components will remain the same as last year’s offering. This is listed as the “screen-replaced version”. It features the industry’s first micro-nano-etched AG glass on the front. As a result, you can expect better visibility with fewer reflections in certain scenarios, such as outdoors. The display is also reported to have a soft touch.
Lenovo claims that the friction when touching the glass is reduced by 50%, which, if true, will lead to a significant improvement in the user experience.

Similar to last year, you’ll get an 8.8-inch panel with a fairly high resolution of 2560X1600 under the new frosted glass. This means a pixel density of 343 PPI.
A Weibo user commented that the new successor with an updated chip and other internal components will not be available until the second half of this year. Lenovo officially confirmed this, saying that the third generation Y700 “will not be available for at least the next two months.”
Speaking of the internal stuffing, the second-generation Legion Y700 tablet is equipped with a 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Two memory and storage configurations are available – 12 GB + 256 GB and 16 GB + 512 GB. You get a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the back and an 8MP front-facing selfie camera on the front. Notably, this second-generation tablet boasts 2 USB Type-C 3.1 Gen2 ports and supports display output via DisplayPort 1.4.
