Instagram is testing a feature that locks videos with a secret code and a provided clue, according to a report by TechCrunch. This looks like a new way for creators to interact with fans, as they can share exclusive videos with people who are most likely to know the answer to these clues.
For example, an author can close a video with a clue such as “my favorite food,” and the rabid fans will naturally know the answer. The social network Meta tested this feature on its Design account. It posted a blocked video prompting viewers to enter a secret code based on the “1st number in the caption” prompt.
The first hashtag mentioned in the caption was “Threads”. By entering the correct code, viewers get access to a video announcing that the Design account is launching a profile on Threads.

This can be used by brands to advertise new products or by creators trying to increase engagement. It is also very similar to another Instagram tool called Reveal. This feature allows authors to post a hidden story that followers can discover by sending a DM.
