Huawei’s innovative Pura X Max foldable smartphone is set to receive a splash of color. Leaks suggest that new color options, including a striking Bordeaux Red, will be unveiled soon, possibly at an upcoming HarmonyOS 7 and HUAWEI Mate XT 2 launch event.
New Colors on the Horizon
Industry insider @摄影陈掌柜 has shared details about the upcoming color variants. The previously rumored Bordeaux Red is confirmed, boasting a pure, unadorned finish. Another color, described as leaning towards blue, remains unnamed but is also expected to feature a similar clean design.
This move towards a pure color, no-pattern design marks a shift for the Pura X Max. When the device initially launched, only the Phantom Black and Olive Gold versions featured this minimalist aesthetic. Other initial colorways, such as Zero White and Interstellar Blue, incorporated segmented lines and subtle stripe patterns on their back panels.
Pura X Max: A Foldable Pioneer
The Huawei Pura X Max, which made its debut on April 25th, holds the distinction of being the industry’s first horizontally folding wide-screen smartphone. Since its release, it has been powered by the flagship Kirin 9030 Pro processor, offering a premium user experience.

The Pura X Max was launched with several configurations:
- Standard Edition:
- 12GB RAM + 256GB Storage: Priced at 10,999 Yuan
