Huawei and China Eastern Airlines have inked a landmark partnership, bringing a new level of convenience for passengers connecting to in-flight Wi-Fi. This collaboration marks the first system-level integration for airborne internet access, powered by Huawei’s HarmonyOS 7.0.

Effortless Connectivity with HarmonyOS

Starting now, any Huawei smartphone upgraded to HarmonyOS 7.0 will be able to connect to China Eastern’s in-flight Wi-Fi system with a single click. Gone are the days of needing to download separate apps or navigate through cumbersome portal pages. This new system-level integration streamlines the entire process, making it as simple as connecting to any other Wi-Fi network.

The process is designed for ultimate user-friendliness. After takeoff, users simply enable flight mode, then search for and connect to the “CEAIR-WiFi” network. A system pop-up will automatically appear, prompting users to tap on “HarmonyOS Yuanwu Service Easy Authentication.” If the pop-up doesn’t appear automatically, users can simply open a web browser and navigate to www.muflyer.com. Once the China Eastern Yuanwu Service page loads, a click on “Connect Now” is all it takes. Upon successful authentication, the Yuanwu Service will automatically close, and users will be directed to a confirmation page indicating their successful internet connection.

Exclusive Perks for Huawei Flagship Users

Beyond the universal ease of access, Huawei is rolling out tiered exclusive benefits for owners of its flagship devices. Purchasers of select Huawei phones will receive a complimentary year of in-flight Wi-Fi service, with the tier of service varying based on the device model.

Specifically, users of the Mate 90, Mate 90 Pro, Mate 90 Pro Max, and the Collector’s Edition models are eligible to claim a one-year subscription to the High-Speed Wi-Fi service. The process to claim this benefit is straightforward: navigate to the “New Device Benefits” section within the “My Huawei” app. From there, users will be directed to the China Eastern Yuanwu Service to redeem their entitlement.

For those who opt for the premium Mate 90 RS Ultimate Master or the Mate XT2 Ultimate Master, an even more exclusive offer awaits: a one-year subscription to the Ultra-Speed Wi-Fi service. The redemption process mirrors that of the other flagship models, accessible through the “My Huawei” app.

A New Era of Air Travel Connectivity

This collaboration between Huawei and China Eastern Airlines signifies a significant leap forward in the mobile connectivity landscape for air travel. By integrating directly into the HarmonyOS ecosystem, Huawei is not just offering a feature but a fundamentally improved user experience. This move is expected to set a new benchmark for convenience and accessibility for passengers seeking to stay connected while airborne.

The partnership underscores Huawei’s commitment to leveraging its HarmonyOS to create seamless, interconnected experiences across various aspects of daily life, now extending to the skies.
