Huawei’s ADS (Autonomous Driving System) has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 16 billion kilometers in cumulative assisted driving mileage. This impressive figure underscores the extensive real-world deployment and continuous refinement of Huawei’s intelligent driving technology.

Key Milestones Reached

According to Huawei’s official QKUN website, the cumulative assisted driving mileage for QKUN intelligent driving systems has now exceeded 16 billion kilometers. Alongside this, vehicles equipped with QKUN intelligent driving have collectively driven over 45.3 billion kilometers in total.

Furthermore, the system has demonstrated its safety capabilities by actively avoiding potential collisions more than 6.64 million times. These statistics highlight the robustness and effectiveness of Huawei’s advanced driver-assistance systems in diverse driving scenarios.

Enhanced Safety Metrics

Huawei’s ADS technology also shows a significant improvement in safety compared to industry averages. The system’s average mileage before a severe collision in assisted driving (ADS) mode is reported at 9.987 million kilometers. This figure is approximately 5.55 times higher than the estimated Chinese average of 1.8 million kilometers.

Even in human-driven mode (ADS – Human Driving), the safety record is noteworthy, with an average of 5.856 million kilometers before a potential incident. This is an estimated 3.25 times higher than the Chinese average.

Previous Achievements

This latest achievement builds upon earlier successes announced by Huawei. In August of this year, Huawei’s QKUN Intelligent Automotive Solutions division reported that its “car-to-parking spot” cumulative usage had surpassed 100 million times. Additionally, its assisted parking features had accumulated over 1 billion usage instances.

These previous milestones demonstrate a strong user adoption and consistent utilization of Huawei’s intelligent parking and maneuvering technologies, indicating a growing reliance on these advanced features by vehicle owners.

The continuous accumulation of mileage and successful collision avoidance instances by Huawei’s QKUN intelligent driving systems suggest a maturing technology ready for wider adoption. As more vehicles are equipped with these advanced systems, the data gathered from billions of kilometers driven will undoubtedly contribute to further enhancements in safety and performance, paving the way for more autonomous driving capabilities in the future.
