Great Wall Motor’s WEY brand is set to unveil the Gaoshan 8 HEV, a new intelligent luxury four-wheel-drive MPV, on October 26th at 11:00 AM. Marketed as a plug-in-free smart luxury 4WD MPV, the Gaoshan 8 HEV aims to redefine the segment with its advanced driver-assistance systems, flexible interior space, hybrid performance, and comfortable ride.
Pre-orders Open, Pricing Revealed
The Gaoshan 8 HEV has already opened for pre-orders, with pricing starting at 275,800 yuan. This positions the new model as a premium offering within the MPV market, emphasizing its blend of advanced technology and luxury features.
Design and Dimensions
Echoing the brand’s ‘High Mountains and Flowing Water’ design philosophy, the Gaoshan 8 HEV features a distinctive front fascia with a贯穿式 (gùan chuān shì – through-type) grille. The wrap-around headlight and taillight design symbolizes ‘step-by-step progress’ and ‘family prosperity,’ respectively. The MPV measures 5280mm in length, 1960mm in width, and 1900mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3145mm. Customers can choose from seven exterior color options: Glimmering Ink Green, Emperor Purple, Deep Space Black, Brocade White, Night Ink Green, Flowing Light Gold, and Rain Sky Gray.
Advanced Driver Assistance
A key highlight of the Gaoshan 8 HEV is its sophisticated Coffee Pilot 3 intelligent driving assistance system. The system boasts comprehensive sensor coverage with 27 high-precision sensors across the vehicle. It features an upgraded 192-line lidar for forward perception and is powered by an Orin-Y chip with 200TOPS of computing power, ensuring robust support for future algorithm updates and enhanced driving safety.
Spacious and Versatile Interior
The interior design continues the Gaoshan family’s focus on practicality and comfort. It retains a flat floor and a shared rail design for the second and third rows, allowing for flexible seating arrangements and easy adaptation for various cargo and passenger needs. The front seats are upholstered in anti-stain, anti-bacterial NAPPA leather, incorporating 10-point massage, heating, and ventilation functions. The ventilation system is uniquely designed with backrest suction and cushion blowing for zoned comfort. The driver’s seat also features an integrated headrest audio system. Additionally, the central console island has been enhanced with physical buttons, dual 50W wireless phone chargers, and extra storage compartments.
Hybrid Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the Gaoshan 8 HEV is equipped with a 2.0T hybrid-specific engine (GW4N20B) paired with dual front and rear electric motors. This powertrain delivers a maximum system power of 322kW and a peak torque of 782N·m. The MPV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. Its fuel efficiency is rated at 6.92L/100km under the WLTC comprehensive operating conditions. The chassis features a standard all-aluminum suspension system, designed to reduce unsprung mass and minimize road vibration, thereby contributing to a superior driving experience.
