Google co-founder Larry Page has a new AI startup

Google co-founder Larry Page is creating a new company called Dynatomics, which will focus on the application of artificial intelligence in manufacturing, The Information reports.

Page is reportedly working with a small group of engineers on an AI that can create “highly optimized” designs for objects and then set up their production in a factory, The Information reports. Chris Anderson, formerly CTO of Kittyhawk, a Page-backed electric airplane startup, is leading the stealth effort, The Information reports.

Page is not the only entrepreneur exploring ways to use AI to improve manufacturing processes (although he may be one of the richest).

Orbital Materials is creating an artificial intelligence platform that can be used to search for materials ranging from batteries to carbon dioxide capture cells. PhysicsX provides modeling tools for engineers working on projects in industries such as automotive, aerospace, and materials science. On the other hand, Instrumental uses vision-based artificial intelligence to detect factory anomalies.
