Gemini Extensions are now available in most languages

Gemini is designed to be your AI personal assistant – intuitive and useful, and easy to talk to. To make it even more accessible and useful, Google has made Gemini Extensions available in more languages, including Ukrainian, making it easier to access information and complete tasks in your favorite Google services, apps, and tools.

In addition, the team is making Gemini Live available in more languages (it’ s already available in Ukrainian), allowing you to have natural conversations in different languages.

Try the Gemini Extensions

Since the team integrated Extensions directly into Gemini, people have been able to accomplish more tasks with the apps and services they already use, like Gmail, Maps, and YouTube.

Recently, the company announced that it’s expanding the ability to connect even more apps and tools, including Google Calendar, Tasks, Keep, Utilities, and YouTube Music. Now you can use these extensions in all languages supported by Gemini, including Ukrainian, which will make your tasks much easier.

Here are some examples of how you can use Gemini Extensions:

  • Ask Gemini to find a lasagna recipe sent to you in Gmail and ask it to add the ingredients to your Keep shopping list.

  • Take a picture of a concert poster and ask Gemini if you’re free that day – and even set a reminder to buy tickets.

  • Ask Gemini when your favorite comic book movie is coming out, and then ask it to remind you a week in advance to buy tickets.

Now Gemini can help you accomplish tasks easier and faster. The newest Gemini extensions are now available in all supported languages on Android, and will be coming to iOS in the coming weeks.

Gemini Live: now speaking even more languages

Last year, Google introduced Gemini Live, which allows people to freely and naturally communicate with Gemini in English. And in November of last year, Gemini Live started speaking Ukrainian. Today, the developers are expanding Gemini Live to even more languages. In the next few days, you’ll be able to use Gemini Live in any language where the Gemini app is available, so that more people can communicate, collaborate, and use conversational AI in different languages.

Here’s how to easily set up your preferred languages in the Google app:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app and tap your profile picture or initials at the top.

  2. Tap Settings > Gemini > Languages.

  3. Select a supported language.

  4. You can optionally add a second supported language. You can currently install and use up to two languages with Gemini Live.

Your partner in AI conversation

You can actually have a conversation with Gemini Live. It’s like talking to a friend: you can generate ideas, research new topics, or even prepare for an important presentation. Gemini Live can support your conversations, so you have the ability to interrupt, change direction, or dive deeper into a particular topic. Here are just a few examples of what you can do with Gemini Live:

  • Ask for advice: Discuss various topics with Gemini, such as a potential job that best suits your skills or education.

  • Plan events: Talk to Gemini about organizing a party for friends and family.

  • Dive into new topics and broaden your horizons: Ask Gemini Live about historical events, scientific concepts, or even the rules of chess or mahjong.

  • Explore local topics and ideas: Talk to Gemini about topics specific to your region or interests.

A world of possibilities in more languages

“We believe that everyone should have access to the power of AI. By expanding Gemini Live and Gemini Extensions to more languages, we’re making this a reality, helping people around the world access information and experience the benefits of an AI assistant,” Google said.
