As for the package, it is quite simple, although the manufacturer has taken into account absolutely everything you need: a user manual and a charging cable with a dual micro-USB output for recharging the batteries. Why dual and why batteries? It’s simple, because Gelius by Krazi Shark2 KZBS-003U, as I have already mentioned, can be “split in half”, thus creating an even larger spatial volume. Both “half-speakers” will play even “separated” – the necessary possibilities are provided by the manufacturer inside.
All of the above is supplied in a relatively compact cardboard package, where the speaker itself is placed on polystyrene seals, and the cable and documentation are packed in a separate compact box. The packaging design is a combination of several illustrations of the product in various formats and a considerable amount of technical data. The latter relate to both the brand and the model’s capabilities/features, and therefore, in my opinion, are worthy of attention.
Materials used in the case
Gelius by Krazi Shark2 KZBS-003U received the most praise for its plastic. Tactilely, it is very strong, and therefore even a hint that the case can be deformed in any way is “turned off” from the very beginning.
In addition to plastic, there is also some metal – the edging of the micro-USB ports on board and some other elements inside the case.
Rubber was also used. The manufacturer used it to make the control panel and flaps for the micro-USB ports. The latter, given the security of the case, seems to be a logical step. However, from an aesthetic point of view, these flaps are also the right decision.
The loop at one end is made of high-quality imitation leather.
And finally, the mesh. It is easy to see that almost the entire case is covered with it, except for the control panel mentioned above. As a result, in my opinion, it turned out to be quite beautiful and even exquisite in its own way.
Build quality of Gelius by Krazi Shark2 KZBS-003U
As for the build quality, my impressions are extremely positive. Yes, I cannot but admit that at first I was not sure of the quality of the grooves on which the speakers are mounted. However, 2 months of daily use of the gadget proved their reliability. There are no more, let’s say, “moments” to worry about. If the respective flaps of the micro-USB ports are tightly closed, Gelius by Krazi Shark2 KZBS-003U can even be “drowned” – the supported IPX7 protection standard allows it. However, for no more than half an hour and no deeper than 1 meter.
Controls
Above I was able to explain the expediency of the Gelius by Krazi Shark2 KZBS-003U format.
Next, let’s talk about the convenience of control.
The first thing you should know is that both “half-speakers” are switched on separately from each other. The sound volume control, if we do it directly from the speakers, is performed on each speaker individually.
But the individuality ends here – next, we turn our attention to the “main” speaker with a loop. A short press on the power on/off button here controls playback – pause/resume playback. Double/triple pressing turns off Bluetooth/TWS, respectively. And what else is worthy of attention – long pressing the volume buttons on the “main” speaker – switching between tracks.
So, for example, by short pressing the power on/off button, you will pause or remove the playback. And double or triple pressing will turn off Bluetooth or TWS, respectively. I’m sure I don’t need to explain how to adjust the sound – the corresponding buttons are impossible to miss. But to switch between tracks, you need to press and hold the plus or minus button on the main speaker for a while.
Connectivity
Gelius by Krazi Shark2 KZBS-003U has Bluetooth 5.0, which means stable connection and fast sound transmission without “hesitation”, even subtle ones. In addition, this technology provides low charge consumption, which is also a plus in terms of autonomy.
The first connection to a new sound source for the speaker will take you a minute. All subsequent connections will take no more than 5-10 seconds. It is convenient and almost imperceptible to the user. I did not encounter any “pitfalls” at the connection stage.
Batteries and battery life
The batteries, as well as the charging format and the corresponding cable, have already been mentioned above; the capacity can be found in the corresponding list of technical characteristics. As for the battery life, the official data is also in the mentioned list. I got about 9 hours at a volume of at least 85%.
As for the time required for recharging, it is up to 3 hours, depending on the characteristics of the USB port.
Sound quality
Stereo 360 is what will make Gelius by Krazi Shark2 KZBS-003U grab the attention of users. Both you and your company will really appreciate it. Yes, it would be possible to make more pronounced lows, but, as for me, it is not critical. But, even at the maximum sound level, there are no wheezing sounds – I admit, I had some worries in this regard.
I personally did not notice any sound lag in the streaming mode and even watching video in the recording from a tablet with a speaker connected to it. And as a kind of an additional plus to the functionality – the ability to use the speaker for calls in the speakerphone format.
Expert opinion
Well, as a result, we have a worthy speaker system for outdoor enthusiasts or simply users who need a protected speaker for everyday use. On the side of the model, the sound, good battery life, unique format and, of course, IPX7 protection are worthy of attention.
