Gaode Maps has teamed up with motorcycle racer Zhang Xue to launch a new safety-focused navigation voice pack. This collaboration aims to significantly enhance safety for motorcycle riders by integrating Zhang Xue’s safety-first philosophy into the navigation experience, alongside major upgrades to Gaode’s motorcycle navigation system.
Enhanced Safety Features for Motorcycles
The new voice pack is accompanied by a comprehensive update to Gaode’s Eagle Eye Guardian Warning System. This system, now fully optimized for motorcycle navigation, is designed to alert riders to 21 different potential riding hazards. These include scenarios such as oncoming vehicles on curves, slow-moving vehicles ahead, sudden braking by vehicles in front, lane changes by other vehicles, and fast-approaching vehicles from behind.
Zhang Xue’s Philosophy: Safety Over Victory
Zhang Xue is the founder of the Zhang Xue Motorcycle brand. His 820RR model has achieved remarkable success in the WSBK-SSP World SuperSport Championship, securing 6 wins and 2 third-place finishes this year. Despite his racing prowess, Zhang Xue consistently emphasizes that ‘safety is more important than winning championships.’ This commitment is so strong that he has implemented a policy of not selling high-performance, large-displacement motorcycles like the 820RR to riders with less than a year of riding experience.

- For speeding: “Brother, you’re speeding. We’re not in WSBK; safety is more important than winning.”

In critical risk scenarios, the Zhang Xue voice pack works in tandem with the Gaode Eagle Eye Guardian Warning System to provide timely alerts. Examples include:
