I chose this particular model for one simple reason: the current battery on my child’s toy electric car had completely used up its life and needed to be replaced. Why BAT-12V7AH? It’s simple – in the case of this model, we have a surprisingly good combination of features in a compact body with a good price tag for the user. So what figures can we expect? All the answers are below.
Specifications EnerGenie BAT-12V7AH
- Voltage – 12 V;
- Capacity – 7 Ah;
- Battery type – VLRA/AGM;
- Dimensions – 151x65x95 mm;
- Weight – 2.05 kg;
- Terminal type – T2;
- Low self-discharge rate;
- Wide operating temperature range.
The key thing about the assembly
The EnerGenie BAT-12V7AH case is made in the same style as the case of the previously reviewed BAT-12V100AH – a solid or cast block – this is the bottom part + walls. The manufacturer does not specify what material is used, but there can be no complaints in this regard. In addition, there is a very neat design of the case, and this approach to details impresses me personally very much.
Key ergonomic touches
All EnerGenie batteries, including the BAT-12V7AH, are a one-piece battery pack, which is why any changes at the user level are excluded.
As for useful “things” in terms of ergonomics. First, the contact pad is classically on top. There should be no confusion with the polarity – the corresponding “notes” are provided.
Всі необхідні дані технічного характеру винесені на одну зі стінок. Тут же поряд кілька стрічок застережень щодо експлуатації, логотип бренду та інші цікаві «речі», з якими особисто я рекомендую ознайомитися.
Next, let’s move on to operation.
Recharge level out of the box
“Out of the box, the user receives the EnerGenie BAT-12V7AH almost fully charged, and therefore, we can draw appropriate conclusions about self-discharge. It took me no more than 20-25 minutes to reach the “hundredth” with my “regular” Einhell CE-BC 6 M.
Performance
The first thing that was important to me personally was the range of travel on a single battery charge of a children’s electric car. What is the result? 1.3 km on a single charge without a passenger, or about one kilometer with a passenger. I would only add to the above that the track is flat all the time – no ups or downs. Taking into account the charging speed (more on this below), this indicator looks good. Let’s move on. In addition to the typewriter, we also powered a small home server with 1 disk – about 4 hours.
One more test. This battery was installed in a UPS box and then connected to a desktop PC without a separate graphics card and with a 19-inch monitor. What was the result? 9 minutes of additional power when the “public outlet” is turned off, which is more than enough to complete the work without losing data. The PC is built in an average office format.
Charging speed
The time it takes to recharge the EnerGenie BAT-12V7AH from zero to “hundred” is about one hour. In my case, I used the aforementioned Einhell CE-BC 6 M.
Expert opinion
In addition to the tests mentioned above, of course, a number of other tests were performed, but it is more of a sporting curiosity than a real necessity taking into account the model capabilities. In the end, we have a good AGM battery model within its characteristics.
Certainly, the spheres of application of BAT-12V7AH are not limited to the above mentioned points, but we were interested in the above mentioned points in particular. And we have fully satisfied our curiosity with the obtained results, and therefore we can recommend EnerGenie BAT-12V7AH to our readers.
The recommended price is 499 UAH ($13.5).
