The Diia team will participate in the development of the European Digital Wallet: the Ukrainian application was demonstrated to the international community.
A digital wallet is a program for storing and using identification data. The POTENTIAL (Pilots for European Digital Identity Wallet) consortium is working on developing a European service that will allow people to open a bank account online, have constant access to their driver’s license on their phone, use an electronic signature, and receive electronic medical prescriptions.
At a meeting of the international POTENTIAL consortium in Paris, the Ministry of Digital Transformation presented Diia as a candidate for the project.
They showed how to use the app to:
- open bank accounts,
- create and use an electronic signature,
- use digital documents.
The forum participants have repeatedly noted Ukraine as a country that, despite the challenges of war, is making tangible progress in digitalization on its way to the EU.
Our country received a special award from the French Minister of Digital Technology Jean-Noël Barrot.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said:
“Thank you for the high appreciation of the Ukrainian product. It is great that technological developments bring Ukraine closer to the EU.”
The participation of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in the EU Digital Identity Wallet pilot project is supported by the European Union under the DT4UA project implemented by the Estonian eGovernance Academy.
