In anticipation of the 42nd Teachers’ Day, the Ministry of Education in China has launched a new mini-program called “Chinese Teacher” on September 4th. This digital initiative aims to streamline processes for the nation’s educators by connecting directly to the national teacher management information system, allowing teachers to apply for their electronic teacher certificates online, eliminating the need for in-person visits.

Digital Certificates and Teacher Recognition

Developed by the Ministry of Education, the “Chinese Teacher” mini-program is designed to serve approximately 18.7 million teachers across the country. The core functionality allows educators to directly apply for and obtain digital versions of their teacher certificates. This digitalization brings significant convenience, making certificates easily accessible and always available on their mobile devices.

Exclusive Benefits for Educators

Beyond the digital certificate issuance, the mini-program also introduces a dedicated “Teacher Exclusive Service Zone.” This zone offers a range of benefits and discounts across four key areas:

  • Medical Health: Access to exclusive healthcare services and benefits.
  • Travel and Tourism: Special offers for travel and cultural experiences.
  • Financial Support: Advantages related to financial services and products.
  • Lifestyle Consumption: Discounts on everyday goods and services.

These integrated services are intended to acknowledge and support the vital contributions of teachers to society.

Tribute to Educators

In addition to the technological advancements, the Ministry of Education has also organized special events to celebrate Teachers’ Day. This year, two theme songs, “Spring Rain” and “Guide”, have been released. Furthermore, in collaboration with China Media Group, a special program titled “Dream Building for Light – Telling My Education Story” is being aired. This program, broadcast daily on the CCTV Science and Education Channel from September 4th to September 8th at 2 PM, features the inspiring stories of 34 frontline teachers, highlighting their ordinary yet moving experiences in education.

The launch of the “Chinese Teacher” mini-program signifies a significant step by the Ministry of Education to embrace digital transformation, improve services for teachers, and enhance the overall recognition of the teaching profession in China.
