BYD’s premium brand, Denza, has announced a compensation package for customers experiencing significant delivery delays for its second-generation D9 and the fast-charging version of the N9 models. Due to factory production reasons, orders that exceed 90 days from the locked order date without delivery will now receive 100,000 points and a gift package valued at over 2,000 yuan.
Denza D9: Second Generation Unveiled
The second-generation Denza D9 began deliveries in April of this year, following its official launch on April 27th. This new iteration comes in six different models, with prices ranging from 359,800 to 459,800 yuan. The vehicle boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 5250mm in length, 1960mm in width, and 1900mm in height, with a substantial wheelbase of 3110mm.
Powertrain Options
Under the hood, the second-generation Denza D9 offers two distinct powertrain choices: plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and pure electric (EV).
- Plug-in Hybrid: This version features a hybrid system combining a 1.5T engine with dual electric motors. The engine delivers a maximum power of 115kW, while the front electric motor outputs 200kW and the rear motor produces 45kW. It is equipped with the second-generation Blade Battery, offering a CLTC pure electric range exceeding 400 kilometers. The PHEV variant also supports fast charging technology and has a fuel consumption of 6.35L/100km when the battery is depleted.
- Pure Electric: While specific details on the pure electric version’s range and performance were not detailed in the announcement regarding compensation, the overall D9 lineup aims to cater to diverse consumer needs.
Denza N9 Fast Charging Version: Enhanced Capabilities
The fast-charging version of the Denza N9, launched in May, also falls under this compensation policy. This model is available in three configurations, starting at 409,800 yuan. It features the second-generation Blade Battery, providing a CLTC pure electric range of 420km and an impressive comprehensive range of 1520km.
Advanced Driving Technologies
The Denza N9 fast-charging version is equipped with advanced technologies developed by Yisanzhang (易三方), including their triple-motor independent drive technology and VMC (Vehicle Motion Control) system. These technologies enable sophisticated driving maneuvers such as extreme steering, precise circle turns, and intelligent crab-like walking.
The compensation for delivery delays underscores Denza’s commitment to customer satisfaction amidst production challenges. This initiative aims to mitigate the inconvenience caused to buyers of these popular premium models.
While the specific reasons for the production delays were cited as ‘factory vehicle supply issues,’ the proactive compensation from Denza demonstrates a strong focus on maintaining customer trust and loyalty. The points awarded can likely be redeemed for various services or accessories, while the gift package adds tangible value for affected customers.
