We’ve recently heard rumors that Apple is working on the next generation of its Studio Display monitor, and now Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that there may actually be two new models in the works. Building on his previous reports about a potential Studio Display 2022 update that could be released next year, Gurman writes this weekend in the Power On newsletter that sources have told him that “Apple is working on a second new monitor.” The first is codenamed J427 and the second is reportedly called J527.
It’s been three years since Apple introduced the $1599 27-inch Studio Display, and twice as long since the $5000 Pro Display XDR. Given the age of both monitors, Gurman says one of two scenarios could play out: either “Apple is developing both monitors and will choose one to launch, or it will be a second model with a different screen size or set of specs.”
