Anthropic continues to unveil new features for its free users. The latest feature to come out of the subscriber-only mode is web search, which the company introduced in March in its Claude AI chatbot. According to Anthropic, Claude’s connection to the Internet allows it to provide more accurate answers based on the most up-to-date information available on the web. This feature is available to all Claude users starting today.
Additionally, Anthropic has begun beta testing a voice mode in its mobile apps. This option allows users to interact with Claude in natural conversations, extending the existing dictation tools on the platform. Claude can be assigned five voice variations, and after the conversation, the AI assistant will provide full transcriptions and summaries in voice mode.
May was a busy month for Anthropic, which launched two new models last week. Opus 4 is a powerful, coding-focused system that can use multiple tools in parallel and can run for hours on end, while Sonnet 4 is a hybrid reasoning model designed to move from quick queries to more complex ones. During the current beta testing of voice mode, Sonnet 4 will be used by default.
