Amazon has leaked information about Apple’s next breakthrough product, the M4 Mac Mini. The e-commerce site posted brief information about the unannounced product – probably by accident – and although it was quickly removed, MacRumors managed to capture key details and images.
According to the screenshots shared by the publication, the updated Mac Mini 2024 will have a sleek silver design, two USB-C ports on the front panel that will likely support the Thunderbolt 4 connection standard, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The leak suggests that Apple will offer both basic and Pro versions of the M4 silicon, with configurations of up to 14 processor cores, 20 GPU cores, 64 GB of RAM, and up to 8 TB of storage.
Such hardware can be called “revolutionary,” given that the new Mac Mini could have the size and form factor of an Apple TV. In the leaked information, it is placed next to the Mac Studio, so it is difficult to guess the exact dimensions, but most likely we won’t have to wait long to get the final picture, as all details and prices are expected to be revealed later.
Apple is kicking off a series of Mac launches this week. Last night, it unveiled the iMac M4, which packs more power and connectivity into a sleek but familiar package. New 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models may also be introduced in the coming days. But the Mac Mini is what everyone is talking about. Even though it’s called a “mini,” the 2024 update could bring one heck of a “big” upgrade to the world of desktop computing.
