Apple Car seems to be canceled in favor of AI

Apple has apparently paused its plans for the long-awaited electric car. For years, it has been revealed that the brand has been actively working on self-driving technology and not only for its own Apple Car, but now it seems that the closure of the project is related to artificial intelligence (AI).

The news comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The Cupertino-based giant’s ambitious plans have been facing challenges in recent months, but work seemed to be moving forward. But earlier this week, an unexpected announcement shocked nearly 2,000 employees: Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams and Vice President in charge of the project Kevin Lynch shared the news that the Apple Car was being canceled.

It is reported that the people who worked on the car project and were part of the SPG (Special Projects Group) will be transferred to another promising area, namely artificial intelligence. The timing of this announcement coincides with the booming demand for AI and its massive growth over the past year. The report says that the team will now work on generative AI. SPG consists of engineers and vehicle designers, so their future fate is unclear, but it may not be far off.

If this report is true, the Titan project is being buried in favor of artificial intelligence. This is not entirely surprising as the electric car market has shrunk and automakers are currently facing production problems and falling demand. Keep in mind that this is still just speculation at this point, so take this report with a grain of salt for now.
