Cabinet Dismisses Honchar

    The Cabinet of Ministers has dismissed Mykola Honchar from the post of deputy minister of transport and communications and head of the State Communications Administration, Petro Krupko, minister of the Cabinet of Ministers, said.

    An official investigation was carried out in Honchar’s case, Krupko added.

    Tymofii Motrenko, head of the Main Civil Service Department, has presented investigation findings and then the government has decided to dismiss Honchar, Krupko said.

    Honchar was appointed deputy minister of transport and communications on July 1, 2009.

    As Ukrainian News reported, First Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Turchynov discharged Mykola Honchar, deputy minister of transport and communications, head of the supervisory board of the Ukrtelecom telecommunications company, from his duties while investigations into sacking Ukrtelecom Board Chairman Heorhii Dzekon is underway.
    Honchar claimed in the morning, February 22, that the supervisory board had appointed Oleh Kopiika as Ukrtelecom’s acting board chairman to replace Heorhii Dzekon.

    Dzekon intends to appeal to the General Prosecutor’s office against the supervisory board’s fraud decision.
    Three members of the supervisory board of the Ukrtelecom company — Serhii Bukhalenkov, Mykola Burmak and Ihor Ruban — withdrew their signatures in the minutes of the meeting on Heorhii Dzekon’s dismissal.
