Ukrainian Internet Audience 3.4% Up In January To 15.8 Million Users

    In January, the number of Internet users in Ukraine (the number of unique users who visited more than one Web page during a month, and users who got on the Internet during the month and the previous month) rose by 3.4% or 525,000 people to 15.835 million people.

    Ukrainian News learned this from a report of the Bigmir-Internet company (bigmir-internet.com.ua), the wording of which was made available to the agency.

    The average weekly audience of the Ukrainian Internet decreased by 0.3% or 0.017 million users in January over December, to 6.461 million users.

    The average daily audience decreased by 3.8% or 96,000 to 2.401 million users.

    The average time spent by the Ukrainian users on Web sites in January increased by 2.1% and made up 3.34 minutes.
    The total time spent by the Ukrainian users on Web sites decreased in January by 15.7%, to 3.972 billion minutes.

    Geographically, the largest Internet audience was recorded in Kyiv, which accounted for 58.73% of the total number of users in January.

    Users from other big cities and regions like Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lviv, Crimea and Zaporizhia accounted for 30.41% and users from other regions accounted for 10.4% in January.

    The lowest number of the Internet users in January was registered in Chernivtsi, Zhytomyr and Volyn regions with 0.24%, 0.13%, and 0.09% of the total audience in Ukraine respectively.

    The most popular browser used by the Ukrainian users in January, was Opera 9.x (30,5% of users).

    Among search engines, via which Ukrainian websites were accessed, the January leader remained google.com (73.9% of all accesses).

    In the ranking of search queries in January, were leading “autobazar”, “weather”, “ukr.net”, “weather in Kiev”, “news”.
    In December, the number of Internet users in Ukraine made up 15.310 million people.
