Redmi AX5400 mesh-enabled gaming router is now available worldwide

In February 2022, Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand released the Router AX5400, a mesh-enabled gaming WiFi router in China. This high-performance router is now available to a global audience, albeit through unofficial channels. Interested buyers can purchase this technological marvel on platforms such as Banggood or AliExpress for between 80 and 100 euros or $82 and $103.

The Redmi AX5400 stands out for its support for 802.11ax WiFi, working seamlessly in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. On paper, it boasts an impressive maximum data rate of 574 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and a whopping 4808 Mbps at 5 GHz.

It has four external antennas designed to provide reliable data transmission and connection stability. The router also features RGB backlighting that offers 16 million colors. The router is powered by the Qualcomm IPQ5018 SoC and is equipped with 512 megabytes of RAM, capable of supporting up to 248 devices simultaneously.

For those who need speed, the router is equipped with an Ethernet port that supports data transfer speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps, as well as multiple Gigabit connections. The router is equipped with six independent high-performance front-end modules (FEMs) that serve as signal amplifiers. Notably, it has the ability to automatically detect compatible Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones, resulting in a potential latency reduction of up to 20 percent.

By the way, Xiaomi recently posted the AX1500 WiFi router on its official website. Prices in different regions are expected to be announced in the coming days. For now, it is also available on AliExpress for about $25.
