The Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 is expected to hit the market soon. The leaked renders confirmed that the device will be equipped with a single rear camera. The device was also spotted on the Geekbench website a few days ago. The benchmarking platform confirmed that the device will be powered by the Dimensity 6100+ chipset, which will be paired with 6GB of RAM. Now, ahead of the official launch, the Galaxy XCover 7 has been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website.
Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 may soon be available in India
Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 has appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website under the model number SM-G556B. The BIS certification list indicates that the device may be introduced in India in the near future. As a reminder, the Galaxy XCover 5 and XCover 6 smartphones have not yet entered the Indian market. However, given that the XCover 7 has received BIS approval, we can expect Samsung to launch the phone in India.
Based on the previous details, the Galaxy XCover 7 will have thick bezels around the display and a water-drop-shaped notch that will house the selfie camera. The device will also have a removable battery, a MIL-STD-810H-compliant body that is resistant to drops from heights up to concrete, and IP68 water and dust protection. Other details of the smartphone, such as display size, camera configuration, and battery capacity, remain unknown at this time.
The smartphone is expected to replace the Galaxy XCover 5, which was introduced in March 2021. As a reminder, Galaxy XCover 5 features a 5.3-inch display with HD+ resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The device is powered by the Exynos 850 SoC, which is combined with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. The smartphone also has a microSD card slot for expanding memory up to 512 GB.
As for other key features of the Galaxy XCover 5, it has a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel selfie camera, and is IP68 and MIL-STD 810G water and dust resistant. The device is equipped with a removable 3000 mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging.
