The operator continues to expand its LTE network coverage and develop digital services. In Q3 2023, the company built 600 new 4G base stations and modernized almost 1500 more to improve communications and the Internet.

In 9 months of 2023, Kyivstar’s capital expenditures exceeded UAH 3.7 billion. As a result, more than 99% of the telecommunications network in the government-controlled territory is operating normally. Over the next three years, the company plans to invest USD 600 million in the development and reconstruction of its telecommunications network and the development of new communication technologies in Ukraine.

4G and mobile Internet

In Q3 2023, Kyivstar team built another 600 new 4G base stations, modernized almost 1.5 thousand mobile base stations and connected 54 more settlements to the 4G network. Kyivstar’s 4G service is currently available to 94.7% of the population in the government-controlled areas.

The telecom operator’s subscribers have increased the use of mobile Internet services. The number of megabytes per subscriber increased by 17.7% in Q3 2023 compared to Q3 2022. The growth was driven by the development of the 4G network and the company’s tariffs with a large number of megabytes. The number of 4G subscribers increased by 13.1% compared to Q3 2022 to 13.7 million.

In Q3 2023, the total number of subscribers decreased by 1.1% due to war-related factors, such as migration outside the country and the temporary occupation of a number of settlements.

Services and assistance

“Kyivstar develops services that help Ukrainians overcome the challenges of war. These include digital services for online education, healthcare, leisure, digital TV services on Kyivstar TV and others. In Q3 2023, the number of subscribers using the telecom operator’s multiservice services increased by 21.4%.

In Q3 2023, Kyivstar continued to implement charity projects to help subscribers, the country and society overcome the difficulties of wartime. Thus, the company is implementing the project “We live here”, which aims to clear the territory of Ukraine from explosive devices. Thanks to the company’s services, UAH 120 million was raised for the project, and Kyivstar’s contribution to this project exceeded UAH 20 million in Q3 2023.

In Q3 2023, Kyivstar paid over UAH 2.775 billion in taxes and fees to the state budget of Ukraine, and for 9 months of 2023, the amount of taxes and fees paid exceeded UAH 8.2 billion.
