The Ukrainian government has supported the draft law of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, which will allow mobile operators to obtain land for the construction of base stations in 1-3 months instead of 6.
What it will change
Tens of thousands of Ukrainians in villages will have 4G and high-quality connection twice as fast.
Operators will have additional tools to provide faster connection:
- Using someone else’s land with restrictions for building mobile networks. This will speed up the time for bureaucratic procedures.
- Temporary structures instead of built base stations. In wartime, this is a faster and more expedient way to get people connected after de-occupation.
Acceleration
A year ago, the preparation of documentation for the construction of the towers took 12 months or more. The government managed to speed up the process to six months. Last year, operators in more than 120 villages received land six months faster.
With the new changes, the process will take only 1-3 months.
The next step is to consider the draft law in the Parliament. We expect the support of MPs. We need every Ukrainian to have high-quality communication and the Internet.
