In a forward-looking address at the 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, Wang Xingxing, the founder of Unitree Robotics, outlined his vision for the most critical resources that will shape the future global landscape. He identified five key pillars: data, computing power, chip production capacity, energy, and minerals.

Wang’s insights, reported by China News Network and IT Home, suggest a paradigm shift where these resources will be paramount for technological advancement and economic stability. This prediction comes as the world grapples with the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence and robotics.

Robotics at a Tipping Point

Adding to his prognostications, Wang Xingxing indicated that the coming year is likely to mark a significant turning point for the robotics industry and its underlying models. This anticipation is rooted in the accelerating pace of innovation and the increasing integration of robotics into various sectors.

Furthermore, at the 2026 World Physical AI Conference and Unitree Partner Ecosystem Conference, Wang expressed a belief that global attention and commitment to AI, even his own, have not yet reached their full potential. This sentiment underscores his view that AI’s transformative power is still largely untapped.

Unitree’s Strategic Future Directions

During the same October conference, Wang Xingxing detailed Unitree Robotics’ three primary strategic focuses for the future:

  • Mass Production Scalability: Enhancing the company’s capacity for large-scale robot production to meet the demands of a potential market in the tens of millions, or even hundreds of millions.
  • Physical AI Model Development: Pursuing a dual approach of in-house development and strategic collaborations to advance the implementation of compact physical AI models tailored to Unitree’s hardware.
  • High-Performance Computing Clusters: Establishing extensive computing clusters to provide a robust foundation for continuous technological iteration and advancement.

Revolutionizing Algorithm Iteration

Unitree Robotics is actively building a self-evolving system for its robots. This system operates on a closed-loop model that integrates ‘AI autonomous research and development — simulation training — real-world testing — feedback and iteration.’ This methodology aims to replace traditional manual debugging processes, significantly boosting the efficiency of algorithm development and refinement.

The emphasis on these core resources and strategic initiatives positions Unitree Robotics and, by extension, the broader tech industry, for a future driven by intelligent automation and advanced computing capabilities. Wang’s predictions serve as a crucial indicator of the technological and resource priorities that will define the coming era.
