Details have emerged from a Chinese insider regarding an upcoming flagship smartphone, widely speculated to be the vivo X500 Ultra. This anticipated device is reportedly set to boast an impressive camera array and the latest chipset from Qualcomm.
Focus on High-Resolution Photography
According to the leaked information, the smartphone will feature a 50MP front-facing camera. The main camera system is expected to be a powerhouse, comprising two 50MP sensors and a groundbreaking 200MP main sensor. This suggests a strong emphasis on photographic capabilities, aiming to deliver exceptional detail in user-captured images.
Interestingly, while a square front camera design was reportedly tested, it is slated for use in future models of the S series, possibly featuring a 68MP IMX05A sensor. This indicates that the X500 Ultra will likely adopt a more conventional front camera design.
Processor and Other Specifications
Rumors strongly suggest that the new flagship will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 (8975) chipset. This cutting-edge processor from Qualcomm promises high performance and energy efficiency, catering to demanding tasks like intensive gaming and complex computations.
In terms of other aspects, the company has apparently abandoned plans for a Dimensity 9600Pro variant, focusing exclusively on the Snapdragon platform. While the main camera sensor won’t be a 1/1.12-inch 200MP unit, significant advancements are expected in the device’s telephoto capabilities.
Furthermore, a prototype battery with a capacity under 8000 mAh has been mentioned. This could point towards a more optimized internal design, allowing for less bulky batteries due to the improved energy efficiency of the new chipset.
Release Expectations
Although the official model name remains unconfirmed, many believe it to be the vivo X500 Ultra. Earlier, vivo Vice President Johnny Huang had indicated that this model would receive an update and launch in the market around March-April of next year.
Huang also emphasized that the X500 Ultra would significantly surpass its Pro Max counterparts in camera capabilities, targeting professional photographers and creative users seeking top-tier content creation tools. This positions the device to potentially set a new standard for mobile photography and videography.
