Dongfeng Honda has announced its sales figures for October, reporting a total of 17,026 units sold. This represents a significant month-on-month increase of 16.9%. However, the sales volume was lower compared to the same period last year, when 28,896 units were sold.
Key Model Performance
Among the key models, the CR-V saw robust sales with 10,455 units, marking a 7.9% increase from the previous month. The HR-V also demonstrated strong growth, selling 2,383 units, an impressive 71.8% jump compared to September.
Honda’s Commitment to China’s Evolving Market
Masayuki Igarashi, General Manager of Honda Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Honda Technology (China) Co., Ltd., has reiterated Honda’s long-term commitment to the Chinese market. He emphasized that China is not just a sales territory but a crucial hub for driving electrification and intelligent technology advancements. Honda plans to continue its deep engagement with the market.
Strategic Partnerships for Future Mobility
In line with its strategy, Honda has forged significant partnerships in the intelligent mobility sector. The company has signed strategic cooperation agreements with Momenta and Huawei. Momenta’s advanced pilot-assist driving technology and Huawei’s Hongmeng cockpit are slated for integration into new models starting from 2027.
Future Product Pipeline and Development
Looking ahead, Honda is set to introduce new products developed on platforms from its joint ventures, Dongfeng and GAC. The first new energy vehicle, incorporating partner technologies including the powertrain, is expected in 2027. Honda aims to rapidly expand its new energy vehicle lineup thereafter. The development process will adopt a collaborative model involving Chinese partners, joint ventures, and Honda itself.
This strategic direction underscores Honda’s efforts to adapt and lead in China’s rapidly transforming automotive landscape, focusing on electrification and smart technologies to meet future demands.
