Xiaomi’s first SUV, the SU7, is receiving a significant OTA update, version 1.18.0, bringing a host of new features and enhancements to the driving experience. The update, released on October 12th, focuses on improving safety, convenience, and the intelligent driving system.

Key New Features and Improvements

Among the most notable additions is the new safety distance reminder function, designed to alert drivers if they are following too closely to the vehicle ahead, thereby enhancing road safety. The update also introduces the Super Xiao Ai Expert Mode, offering advanced voice control capabilities for users seeking more granular interaction with their vehicle’s systems.

For music lovers, the SU7 now supports lyric translation for QQ Music and NetEase Cloud Music. A translation button will appear on the lyrics page within the apps, allowing users to toggle translations on and off, with the system remembering their preference.

Convenience is further bolstered by a new setting for adjusting the volume of external vehicle sounds, giving drivers more control over their auditory environment. The central control unlocking logic has also been optimized to improve security.

Enhanced Driving Assistance

The update brings substantial improvements to Xiaomi’s intelligent driving system, rebranding the “end-to-end assisted driving” feature to “All-domain Navigation Assistance”. This enhanced system now offers more extensive coverage for parking-level navigation in popular business districts and office buildings. Drivers can now navigate directly to elevator entrances and charging spots, making parking and maneuvering in complex environments more seamless.

User experience for both city and highway navigation assistance functions has been refined, promising smoother and more intuitive operation. These optimizations are expected to make assisted driving features more reliable and user-friendly.
