The upcoming RedMagic 12 Pro+ gaming smartphone, set to launch on October 15th, has revealed its cutting-edge cooling system, promising unparalleled thermal performance for mobile gamers. Nubia, the brand behind RedMagic, has detailed a multi-faceted approach that includes industry-first innovations in both liquid and air cooling.

Revolutionary RGB Water Cooling

At the heart of the new ICEcooling system is an industry-first RGB water cooling technology. This system not only ensures efficient heat dissipation but also supports customizable RGB lighting effects, adding a visual flair to the device’s performance.

The water cooling boasts a new dual-loop channel design, expanding its cooling area to cover crucial components like the airflow pathways, the main chipset, and the battery. For the coolant, RedMagic is employing a fluorinated liquid similar to that used in AI servers. This advanced liquid is driven by a new dual-crystal water pump, which operates with a remarkably low power consumption of just 20mW and delivers a pressure of 130kPa, ensuring efficient fluid circulation without draining the battery.

Advanced Air Cooling with Durability

Complementing the liquid cooling is the updated “Wind-Riding 5.0” cooling fan. This fan features a pioneering labyrinth dust-proof structure and achieves an IPX8 waterproof rating, enhancing durability and reliability in various conditions. It also claims to be the fastest fan in the industry, spinning at an impressive 25,500 RPM. The design incorporates a贯穿式 (through-type) airflow channel, directly targeting and dissipating heat from the device’s hotspots.

Integrated ICE Magic Cooling System 4.0

The overall ICE Magic cooling system has been significantly upgraded. Version 4.0 introduces the industry’s first embedded composite liquid metal, a material known for its superior thermal conductivity. This is combined with an ultra-thin aerospace-grade steel graphene layer, further enhancing heat spreading capabilities.

Additionally, the RedMagic 12 Pro+ features a 4D ice-level VC (Vapor Chamber) with a dual-sided convex design. This specialized VC works in tandem with the other cooling components to effectively cover and manage heat generated by the core components.

Design and Performance Expectations

Building on previous reports, the RedMagic 12 Pro+ is expected to retain the popular under-display front camera design. Powering the device will be the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Super Supreme Edition chip. Nubia has described the upcoming flagship as “the best-feeling RedMagic flagship to date,” emphasizing a design that is “lighter, thinner, narrower, and more rounded” for an improved in-hand experience.

With the unveiling of its sophisticated cooling system, the RedMagic 12 Pro+ is positioning itself as a top contender in the high-performance smartphone market, particularly for gamers who demand sustained peak performance without thermal throttling.
