Cisco has announced significant advancements in its collaboration portfolio, introducing new AI-driven capabilities designed to redefine how people interact with digital assistants and transform the modern workplace. These innovations focus on three key areas: how people work, how the work environment adapts, and how businesses engage with customers.

New Webex: Engineered for Human and AI Agent Collaboration

Cisco is moving AI beyond reactive, on-demand assistants to proactive digital colleagues that actively participate in workflows. Key new features include:

  • Claude Managed Agents | Intelligent Assistants and Multi-Step Actions in Webex: Users will soon leverage shared team context for deeper analysis, strategic recommendations, and coordinated actions among approved agents.
  • New AI Agents Working Alongside Teams: Collaborative AI agents can be invited directly into chats, meetings, and calls to perform complex, multi-step tasks within Webex and third-party applications. For instance, a team member could mention an analytics agent in a Webex chat for usage statistics and then ask a presentation agent to update a corresponding PowerPoint.
  • OpenAI dots | Rich Context and Personal Intelligence: Integration with the Webex Suite Model Context Protocol (MCP) enables direct transfer of Webex context to dots. In the future, dots will also be available in Webex as persistent personal agents.
  • Built on Enterprise Trust: Cisco integrates identity, security, management, and transparency, giving organizations control over AI access, capabilities, and operational methods.

A New Workplace for the AI Era

To support critical, human-centric moments in the age of agents—requiring judgment, strategic alignment, and relationship building—the modern workplace must evolve into an intelligent ecosystem that senses, reasons, and acts. Through Intelligent Workplace Experiences, Cisco combines secure networking, collaboration devices, digital experience quality, and physical spaces into a unified architecture. New innovations include:

  • Visual Planning for IT and Facilities: Workplace Designer extends Cisco’s visual planning experience from individual rooms to the entire workspace, encompassing network, collaboration, and workplace analytics.
  • Rapid Detection and Resolution of Workplace Disruptions: Experience Metrics for the workplace allows IT to move beyond basic connectivity alerts, pinpointing the exact locations of issues and their impact on employees.
  • Optimizing Space and Capacity Planning: Workplace Insights within Cisco Cloud Control provides a clear, unified view of physical office utilization across multiple locations and floors.

Cisco is also introducing RoomOS 27, the operating system for its collaboration devices. This system elevates the workplace experience with AI, platform choice, and intelligent management:

  • Full Interoperability: Through a new partnership with Google, Cisco devices now natively support Google Meet, complementing Webex, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
  • Enhanced Edge AI: A new Cisco AI Assistant on collaboration devices enables natural language interaction within the room. The AI assistant now supports 32 languages.
  • Intelligent Workspace Management: Optimize workspaces with new capabilities in RoomOS 27 and Cisco Cloud Control.

The Cisco Ceiling Speaker Pro further enhances Cisco’s vision for fully integrated, IP-connected conference rooms, ensuring clear and natural sound for every voice.

A New Approach to Customer Relationships

Cisco is launching Dialog, a tool designed to build personalized, long-term customer relationships, shifting from a transaction-based approach to a relationship-centric model. New Dialog capabilities include:

  • Long-Term Task Completion: Agents continue to work on behalf of the customer even after a conversation ends, coordinating actions across people, agents, and backend systems until the desired outcome is achieved.
  • Persistent Relationship Context: Unifies customer history with corporate data to maintain continuous context across all channels and over time.
  • Self-Learning with Every Interaction: Continuously improves agent performance by learning from customer journeys and human agent judgments, while adhering to corporate policies.
  • Rapid Deployment: Enables organizations to onboard AI agents as new team members by indexing existing employee directories, knowledge bases, and operational procedures.

To ensure enterprise trust and scalability, Webex AI Agents operate within Cisco AI Defense’s active security measures, with real-time telemetry and operational observability powered by Splunk.

Cisco is bringing together collaboration, networking, workplace analytics, customer experience, security, and observability on a single, integrated platform. Together with Connected Intelligence, this platform transforms fragmented context into coordinated actions across work, workplaces, and customer experiences.
