奕境汽车 has demonstrated the impressive structural integrity of its upcoming X9 SUV, revealing it can withstand a staggering 20-ton vertical roof pressure test. This figure significantly surpasses the 16-ton benchmark previously set by the company, which was already considered the industry’s highest.

Pushing the Limits of Automotive Safety

During a recent safety technology briefing, Zeng Qinglin, General Manager of the 奕境 Automotive brand, presented a video showcasing the X9’s remarkable performance under extreme load. The test involved placing a 20-ton container onto the vehicle’s roof, and the results were exceptional: the car’s body structure remained completely intact, showing no signs of deformation. Even the doors could be opened and closed normally after the test.

“We increased the weight to 20 tons, and the body structure showed no deformation at all,” Zeng Qinglin stated. He further explained the rigorous nature of the test, detailing how the standard balancing platform was removed, and the container was stabilized using ropes. The X9’s roof then made direct, concentrated contact with the container’s arc-shaped bottom, proving its robustness.

Zeng emphasized that the 20-ton capacity is merely the limit of the testing equipment, not the absolute limit of the 奕境 X9. He also shed light on the company’s decision to initially promote the 16-ton test. “When most car manufacturers conduct roof pressure tests, they use a supporting balancing platform on the roof,” he explained. “Our team unanimously decided to release the 16-ton test video because it did not use a balancing platform, making it easier for users to understand and closer to real-world conditions. At the time, 16 tons was already the highest data in the industry.”

He continued, “So, in this era of chasing data, we have the best results, yet we promoted more conservative data that is closer to real-world conditions. This is also the consistent style of our Dongfeng engineers; our marketing is quite honest. But I dare say, under the same test conditions and working conditions, not many dare to do this.” This approach highlights 奕境’s commitment to transparency and realistic performance metrics.
